: The Ithaca Police Department is currently investigating a bank robbery that occurred at the Tompkins Trust Company - west end branch located at 701 W. Seneca Street.

Police were summoned to the bank when a "hold up " alarm was activated at 3:49PM today. Upon arrival bank personnel described a white male subject that had passed a note to a bank teller demanding money. The suspect did not display a weapon during the robbery.

The suspect was described as a white male approximately 6'2" tall weighing approximately 250lbs. The suspect was said to be wearing a dark baseball style hat, a long sleeve gray shirt and light colored pants. The suspect reportedly left the bank and fled on foot in a Southerly direction.
